WHO WE ARE

HOW WE STARTED

The ReSisters began meeting weekly shortly after the 2016 Presidential election. A group of formerly politically inactive women decided that we could be inactive no longer. Together we educated each other and discussed and took positions on policies we cared about. Over time we became a cohesive group of activists influencing policy throughout Connecticut.

MISSION STATEMENT

The ReSisters is a group of grassroots activists based in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut, focused on promoting progressive causes. Our dual missions are education and action. We campaign for progressive candidates locally and nationally and partner with other similar groups to enhance our impact. We also research the impact of policy initiatives and lobby in support of those with which we agree. The ReSisters focus on actions. We do not fundraise but encourage donating to organizations also working to defend democracy.

STRATEGY
The ReSisters’ strategy is to create a team of dedicated activists highly skilled in letter writing, phone banking, text banking, canvassing (door knocking, if available) and social media communication. We offer our skills in support of progressive candidates and policies in Connecticut and nationally and will serve as a rapid response team wherever needed by Democratic candidates throughout the county.
